Why it's Spectacular

Designed By: Dennis and John Rider

The term "fantasy golf" was coined with the inclusion of Wolf Creek in Tiger Woods' golf video game and as soon as you see this course you will know why. The contrast of "perfect" green grass and the harsh, steep, rugged, terrain from which the course is cut is quite a spectacle to behold and the designers deserve all the credit in the world for their vision.

While it is a bit on the expensive side, if you want a memorable round with tons of photo opportunities, interesting holes, elevation changes, blind shots, and endless challenge you should make sure to try to tame the Wolf.

Other Top Courses

Edgewood Tahoe

Edgewood Tahoe

Pros: If the feeling you get when you're in Lake Tahoe could be encapsulated in a golf course then this is it. Stunning mountain and lake views, pristine conditions, beautiful hole layouts and signature pines make this a round to remember.

Cons: You're going to pay for it, but it's well worth it.

Score:

9.5/10

Las Vegas Paiute (Sun Mountain)

Las Vegas Paiute

Sun Mountain

Pros: Signature railroad tie bunkers make for some nice optics and there are at least a dozen pretty solid holes.

Cons: Like the Wolf, there are some holes that are nothing spectacular.

Score:

9.1/10

Conestoga

Conestoga

-

Pros: A really solid desert course also in the Mesquite area, there are a number of cool holes and plenty of challenge.

Cons: It's a little on the difficult side and sometimes good shots don't feel like they are rewarded.

Score:

9.2/10

Oasis Golf

Oasis Golf Club

-

Pros: In it's day (before Wolf Creek) this was a pretty cool resort course and the nicest in Mesquite. While the rest of the courses in the area have elevated the expectations substantially, this is still not a bad option.

Cons: Feels a bit dated relative to the extremely interested courses that have since been added in the area.

Score:

8.6/10

Las Vegas Paiute (Wolf)

Las Vegas Paiute

The Wolf

Pros: Very well kept and less trafficked than those in central Las Vegas this is a nice getaway with plenty of interesting holes and nice mountain backdrops, particularly during sunset.

Cons: Some of the holes are a little on the boring side, but the good ones make up for it.

Score:

9.2/10

Bali Hai Golf Course

Bali Hai Golf Club

Pros: Being able to golf anywhere with the Las Vegas strip as your backdrop is going to make for a memorable round.

Cons: None to note, overall great condition with plenty of cool holes.
